Cancellation terms and conditions and liability

We are very proud of Lowveld Escape, and want to keep the well cared for character. That is why we have drawn up a few house rules and conditions for our tenants. Read these carefully so you can keep to them.

These general booking and rental conditions are part of the rental agreement between you and the landlord (Lowveld Escape). By making your payment to the landlord you agree to the terms and conditions described below.

Lessor’s liability

The landlord is never liable for:

  • Disruption, modification or prevention of the tenant’s stay if this is the result of unforeseen and/or insurmountable events.
  • Injuries sustained by the tenant due to the stay in the rented object.

Loss, theft and damage to personal belongings or vehicles.

Cancellation by tenant

A cancellation must be notified to the landlord by e-mail. When you cancel, the following amount is due to the landlord as a tenant, depending on how long before your stay you cancel (the date is fixed on the day the email is sent to us):

    • Cancellation more than 3 months before the start of the rental period: 20% of the rental sum

.

    • Cancellation between 3 and 1 month before the start of the rental period: 50% of the rental sum

.

    • Cancellation between 1 month and day 0 before the start of the rental period: 100% of the rental sum

.

When the tenant cancels, the landlord may offer or rent the property again for rent.
If the tenant leaves the property before the end of the rental period, no rent will be refunded.

Cancellation by the landlord

If the property becomes uninhabitable due to unforeseen circumstances, the landlord is forced to cancel the rental agreement and the tenant will be informed immediately. Also, within 10 days already paid rent will be refunded. In this case the landlord can never be held liable to pay any (consequential) damage and/or inconvenience
